Skincare love...❤️

Friday, July 21, 2017

So a few months back I picked up a few items to try for my skin because it was going through hell! I went to Ulta and picked up the Mario Badescu enzyme cleansing gel which you can find here and the Ulta advanced cleansing dual action facial cleansing system brush which you can find here, and let me just tell you! It is a bomb combo and very affordable compared to other facial brushes ($200) + and cleansers ($70) plus.

Not to say those products aren't good as well but they are a bit out of my price range for what I would want to spend on skincare right now. The cleanser is on $7 for the 2 oz bottle and I only purchased that size because I wanted to test it out first and see if it worked and I'm glad I did and will be repurchasing when I'm out! The spin brush is also amazing and the replacement heads are extremely affordable! You get 2 for $8 can beat that at all! Overall the spin brush is really great on the skin and it didn't cause me any break outs from being too abrasive because it's very soft and cleans really well and deeply.

The brush comes with 2 brush heads in the box a cleansing and a pumice type brush and it is battery operated. I've personally only used the regular spin brush but I love how it feels on the skin! The scent on the cleanser is very subtle and refreshing and leaves my skin smooth and very clean plus it works well on my very oily skin!
What are your favorite skincare products?

This review is not sponsored and this is my honest opinion.

We're Back!

Tuesday, July 18, 2017

So I am back after not blogging for a while....I'm glad to be back and it's definitely time because the last 3 to 4 months have been crazy, but I have a good amount of content to share!  I've decided that I'm just going to blog my way. I think the pressure of keeping up with everyone else pushed me away from blogging. I'm the type of person who gets bored easily and puts things on hold when I become overwhelmed! I felt I was not able to keep up with it all...So I'm going to stick to my motto! "Simply my life, my way!" and I'm going to give it another shot. I'm also going to work at my own pace until I can figure a balance, but here's a little of what's been going on...

I turned 30, have been sick a lot, I'm thinking about becoming a vegan while trying to figure out how to make it work with my family life. I purged my closet a few times and I'm thinking about going in for another round since there's a lot that I can get rid of that I'm just holding on to. I'm also trying to find a new place because we've decided to move and we have about 2 months to figure it out. My little family went to Dallas to visit family for 2 weeks,I joined the gym with my baby sister and my hubby started a new position in his career and it's been extremely hard to adjust but things are looking up!

I'm suffering from insomnia so I'm literally up all night I sleep for about 2 hours and then I'm up again and I repeat that cycle a few times until it's time to get out of bed! There's so much more but I won't be a bore. LOL I've just had a lot going on but my faith is best thing I've have going right now and I am blessed and excited for where my life is going! It's time to get back to work so be on the look out for some new things from me! I have a skincare review with the Sephora spin brush and Mario Badescu products, my birthday trip to Austin, Dallas vacation photos, mini summer haul for the little one and so much more so stay tuned!

P.S
Zoe is featured on the target awesome shop!
Here's the link which is still available: her top can be found here http://tgt.biz/ehtz
Her shorts (the color she has on is out of stock online) and sandals are from Old Navy, her sunglasses are from Walmart for $5.

Styling Saturday! (Kids Edition)

Sunday, April 02, 2017

Hi all! This is a random OOTD post of my little one Zoe. Her first spring outfit! One of my favorite things to do is dress her up. She so easy to find cute things for and just makes having a little girl so much fun! So far she's such a girly girl and doesn't mind being dressed up and I love it! This is just one of many outfits that we will be sharing.

Today was supposed to be a rainy, gloomy day but the weather didn't hold up to that thankfully so I am now motivated to get some work done both on my blog and around the house with Zoe's who actually likes doing chores (for now anyway) lol Her outfit is a jumper/romper from Carter's that I picked up from an outlet mall for only $7 it was a clearance item but they have many similar ones one the site. I had already bought her one similar to this from Target but I completely forgot ,they aren't exactly alike so it's ok I guess lol. Her sandals are Cat & Jack for Target for $17, her puff ball headband is from Target as well from their Dollar Spot section for only $1.

I love this cute outfit it's comfy for her and easy to style with simple cute accessories. As you can see in these photos Zoe is full of personality and loves to pose for the camera. So it's both easy and hard to get perfect shots of her where she always picks her own cute poses lol. My hubby took her outside to take these while I got myself ready for the day to distract her and get her out of the house because he loves to harass me while I get ready. I don't mind but it is time consuming lol

Yesterday we went to a birthday party her 2nd of the year, I'm sure there will be tons more this year lol. She had so much fun and was so happy to be around other kids. It was quite the challenge because she isn't really socialized much but we made it through and went to have fun at grandmas afterwards. Today will be a lazy Sunday after chores and dinner is done I will probably watch so more of the new Netflix series I started while folding her laundry. I hope you guys have a great day and an awesome week!
Until next time,

Weekend Vibes!

Friday, March 31, 2017

Hey y'all! Soooo since the weekend is approaching I'm going to share what I did last weekend. It was one of the best weekends that I've had in a long time! I feel a really big positive change coming my way soon. I'm not sure what it is but I'm excited and nervous about it! This weekend showed me that I have to continue to live in the moment and enjoy my life everyday!
This past Saturday was my best friend Shari's first art show! She is a freelance artist that also does custom artwork and mobile art sessions. Her work is awesome and you can check it out on her website www.creativeoncanvas.com , her Instagram is @creativeoncanvas_ ,and here's her Facebook. So to start the weekend I volunteered myself to help her setup because I always invade her life lol. She picked me up at about 1pm or so, we were supposed to have left to go to the show by then but of course I was running a little behind because life ( wife and mommy duties). 😊
We finally left and made it to the venue (Spindletap Brewery) where they we're hosting the Conception Arts show. We had enough time to setup her booth, grab a bite to eat and I took lots of photos before the show began. There were so many talented artist at the show and I may be bias but I would say that my bestfriend was one of the best! Everyone was so different and showed so much passion for their work. It was so exciting and breath taking to be in the room with so many different and incredibly talented individuals.

My husband was able to come and enjoy himself, he doesn't get out much because he works A LOT so it was good to see him doing something other than work! Shari had a great turn out of support from her family and friends, sold some of her artwork and even signed up a few people for her mobile art sessions. It really was a great day! Afterwards we had a late dinner at Waffle House, recapped the day and my husband and I picked up our little one. I really couldn't be more happy and excited for Shari! ( I love you bestie congrats again)!

So on Sunday some of my siblings and I went to the Houston Rodeo with our kids and we had so much fun! The best part was the food! We literally had almost one of everything we each bought something and shared with one another. We had a corn dog, funnel cake, and huge hot dog, chili cheese fries, fried oreos, a turkey leg, sausage on a bun and strawberry lemonade it was pretty good! I made sure to eat pretty well all week so that I could indulge in the food lol After eating we walked around, got on rides and played games. I even ran into to my friend Ashley.
When we were done for the night we took a long walk back to our cars and went back to my moms to have Sunday dinner we all ate again believe it or not! Dinner was really good as usual (thanks mom). That was my weekend and I got to spend it with some of the closest people to my heart and I couldn't be happier! Do you have any plans for the weekend? If so I hope you enjoy yourself! We're taking our little one to a birthday party.... Happy Friday!

Here's some photos from the weekend.

Until next time,
Courtney B 💋

Stepping into Spring!

Thursday, March 23, 2017

Hi there!
Spring has officially sprung and the weather feels amazing!
Here's my first outfit post of the season, and let me just tell you shooting photos for your blog is not easy but I made it through! Lol I usually don't take full body pictures so this was hard for me but I've learned so much from this experience and I'm sure there's a ton more to learn.

Ok now on to my outfit...this top is from Rainbow shops and was very affordable and cute. I first saw a similar top on Eloquii's website and you can find another similar one here, but they were out of stock in my size when I wanted to order it. I happened to be browsing rainbows shops website and came across this top which is not exactly the same but very similar. So I opted to get this one, I usually don't wear my shoulders out but I loved the top and the price.
My jeans are from Ava and Viv's line which I love and are really comfy I'm short so I had to roll them up and the knees have slits but again I'm too short lol you can find them here.

My shoes are from a little boutique out in Monroe, LA it was located near the bed and breakfast where (beautiful place by the way) we stayed while there on a business trip with my mom. I was sitting in the parking lot and saw a sign that said all shoes $5-10 and I was hesitant to get out and look because I have wide feet and didn't think any of them would fit me.

So I sat there a little longer and the shopaholic in me said just go and check it out you might find something and I did! This is the first shoe I saw and I immediately decided to try it on just to see if it would fit and it did! Talk about excitement! I rushed inside and they were on sale for $10 with tax I paid $11 ( the tax rate was a bit higher than in Texas). That made the rest of my day! They are still available and you can find them similar here. I love the fringe and neutral colored shoes, and you really can't beat that price because on the website they retail for $60.

My earrings are also from target and they were only $8 my best friend bought them for me! I'm really excited for spring and the perfect temperatures it's the only time the temps are perfect in Houston. I love this easy, super comfy outfit and hope you do too! What's your favorite season? Mine are everything except summer.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you're enjoying the weather!
Until next time,
Courtney B 💋

Motivation Monday

Monday, March 13, 2017

 Hi again,
Daylight savings time has really thrown me off!
I wasn't prepared and didn't even know that the time was springing forward on Sunday morning. Having a toddler that's used to staying in bed longer makes it a little bit harder. She is not adjusting well to the time change, and of course because she doesn't understand why we are up and starting our day a whole hour early. She is cranky and confused, so that  makes the start of the day a real struggle.  It gets better throughout the day and hopefully she will adjust soon and won't notice a difference.

I had a different post planned for today but, I didn't get everything finished for it the way I wanted to. I also didn't just want to post something that I wasn't completely happy with. Since I am new to blogging. I'm having to do a ton of research on ways to make sure my blog is great but also makes me happy. Having to make time for it is a lot of work but I'm always up for a challenge. It's especially difficult with my little one running around and getting into everything . That makes it hard to stay focused and causes me put off my projects until I get some available free time. Which is usually during her nap time. Which is also when  I have to get things done around the our place so I'm still figuring out how to juggle wife life, mom life and blog life.

Today what I really want to talk about is consistency. It's one of the most challenging things for me to do in my life, and always has been. I seem to start a project and when I get bored with it, I'm unmotivated by it, or it just doesn't inspire me anymore, I drop it all together until something else peaks my interest. I have put off blogging for so long that the way it works has changed so much since I initially decided to do it.

Now the pressure is on and its intimidating and at times discouraging when I see what the world of blogging consist of now. The work and quality of my work really has to show. What I really want  is this year to be different and for me to  do something that I have wanted to do for a while. I see now that I am going to need a lot of consistency, faith and motivation to get things done.

I'm going to push my self harder than I ever have before! With all that being said, do what motivates you the most and do your best to stay consistent and eventually all of your hard work will pay off! At least that's what I keep telling myself!? Lol. If you have any tips on how you stay consistent, motivated or inspired please share! Here's a quote from @LloydBarker on Instagram that gave me motivation to get this blog post up today. Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time,
Courtney B 💋
